I have been very gently, and I believe not even intentionally, called to task by one of my very, very most dear readers for seeming angry and cynical. She says what depresses her the most is that she agrees with me.
My tone may have the effect of depressing some of you as well. I hope you will ride the waves with me and understand some very basic facts of this blog. I am a Marine's wife. Morale is very low in the ranks right now. And I do not blog the War for very personal reasons, though I have been repeatedly asked to do so by some very familiar cewebrities.
The way I see it, my job is mother to my children first. The name describes what the original intent of this blog was---mommy blogging with a Conservative point of view--to make America a better place for my children to grow up. I am a fine artist, a frustrated attorney, and homemaker in a country where my demographic is increasingly marginalized.
This blog drifted to politics for some very unglamorous reasons, not the least of which is LGF and HOTAIR both opened their comment registrations one afternoon in October and this was the only blog I had to claim. The "political" blog that I envisioned has another name that I reserved and will yet deploy.
The short of this is that seejanemom will maintain the heading on politics as I ramp up coverage of the Conservative Political Action Conference and the coming election. Because all politics is local and my family is local, I find that I cannot extricate the two from one another. So when I get bummed about Pop Culture, you will know my motivation, and know that I know that you are "the choir" and while I sound preachy and might use the word "you" to excess, I actually mean everyone but you.
You are my greatest hope precisely because you are here and participating in the Brain Stream Media with me. You and I will make America the place our Founders envisioned, one family at a time. So please suffer my morale setbacks with me, but know that tomorrow is another day to be filled with hope.
Most sincerely,
C. Jane Stewart
I sure don't consider you cynical, Jane. You tell it like it is.

That must of been the rumored "www.seejanekickassandtakenames.com" I've been hearing about from little keebler Elves.
[JANE SAYS: Damned Elves.]

Hey, you call 'em like you see 'em. Nothing wrong with that.

Looking forward to an exciting next couple years. Without giving the impression that the sky is falling I truely believe that the next election could change the course of the US and the world. Dems will give the farm away before they will fight for it!
[JANE SAYS: For better or for worse, '08 will be (and I DESPISE this cliche) the tipping point.]

...and here I thought "the tipping point" had to do with Ted Kennedy and shots of scotch.

Jane, morale setbacks, are you kidding? I'd be worried if you didn't have them from time to time. I would assume you just decided to hide under the bed until it was all over. It's strange to say but knowing there are others out there who are worried and concerned for the future gives me hope.
So many people have no clue about what's going on in the world, things that have a major impact on their lives. It especially bothers me that those who have children not only do not know, but do not want to know (I was never blessed to have children, or a husband either. It is a blessing, however to all those men who are not my husband)
And Chuck is right, you call 'em like you see 'em. You bring a unique and much needed voice to what you see, and if it's depressing at times, So. Be. It.

... a fine artist, a frustrated attorney, and homemaker...
I had assumed that frustration and anger were the natural state of affairs given your statement above.
:-)
[JANE SAYS: Your sympathy is MOST appreciated. Pray for me.....No. Really. Go forth...PRAY. ;) ]

Good day, Jane:
No worries, you all-American babe, you!
[JANE SAYS: Come on in and sit right down, we have lots to catch up on! ;)]

Angry? Cynical? Say it ain't so, Jane!
Don't worry...I'm proud to be one of the "you's" in your blog. And I love ya anyway!
You can call me "you" anytime you want.
[JANE SAYS: Sorry. YOU aren't a "YOU". No can do. Rosie lives life on her terms. Rosie does not slave herself to pop culture. Rosie drinks deeply from the well. SORRY. Rosie is NOT A "YOU". ;) ]
