George Will introduced the 9-11 hero with reference to Maggie Thatcher's handbag swatting at Big Government. Somehow, I don't think Maggie wore bananas in her Ascot hat, though.
Quote to remember: "I believe the Republican Party's greatest contribution is when we give more freedom to people." But I think its what he doesn't say.
According to the convention pace, I believe Rudy to be the most very most popular candidate and I fully expect him to win the CPAC Straw Poll.
Why can the Republicans not admit that it might be better to have a President who can manage things that matter like money and security? Because without those things the rest is moot.
Being Presidential is sometimes more important that looking Presidential.

This is one of the few things that I have seen you say in which we are in total agreement. Too many people seem to be forgetting that if a majority consensus of republicans selects someone then the rest of the party should support them. Reagan did that in 76 when he could have easily caused much embarassment for Ford.
Hopefully there are more responsible adults in the party that see it this way as well.
Everyone has a contribution but in the end it is politics which means compromise on some issues.
Are you getting tired of hearing the "wah let's form a third party if they don't pick MY guy" talk?

as a new yorker (and one who lived and worked in downtown manhattan from the morning of 9/11/01 through the multi-year aftermath .. and one who also lived through the PRE-9/11 guiliani administrations) i will say i find the description of rudy guiliani as "presidential" bizarrely laughable. and to top if off, the very idea that it's the right wing of the republican party saying this seems .. just .. so .. strangely .. twisted.
just a couple of rudy facts:
-- rudy's been married three times, the first time to his cousin and is widely known as a womanizer
-- rudy is pro-life
-- rudy is for gun control
AND seejanemom, rudy giuliani has a LISP!! and we already KNOW how much you hate people with lisps and their "agendas"
[JANE SAYS: I DO NOT "HATE" people who have lisps. I HATE their lisps. I will thank you to read critically or not to comment. Newt has more baggage, and I like him more in spite of it. If you guys can forgive Bill for being a womanizer IN THE OVAL OFFICE and then herald his ignorant clinging wife as some FEMINIST HEROINE for tolerating him, I would say you are in no postion to lecture US on who we choose.Pffft.]
