The Conservatives might be seeing some blood returning to their political muscle inside the Republican party. Though not legally. Not yet. Check the FOURTH QUESTION down on the latest USA Today/Gallup results and see what adding Fred Thompson to the race does to the other jockeys. And this is with The Newt already in the paddock.
This is no comparison to anything other than political timing, I assure you, but JFK didn't officially saddle up until February of 1960 after teasing his party for months and it didn't hurt a bit, considering the outcome. It seemed a well timed hedge against campaign burnout that Thompson can ill afford with the new and improved Super Duper Tuesday on tap this cycle.
Many say that the American public only thinks "Law and Order" when they hear Fred Thompson's name. This is the American Idol culture we live in. And if the electorate (yes, even our side of it) is that dumb, then I guess I'll take law and order any way I can get it.
I would vote for Fred Thompson over Rudy or Mitt! I also think he has a much better chance to win than Newt.
Btw, Jane you have been awarded a "Thinking Blogger Award" at: http://rodeoofthemind.com/2007/03/28/thinking-blogger-award/

Mitt is a waffling empty suit. McVain? We tried that already with GWB. Giuliani? Lib.
Fred! is the best thing going easily.
[JANE SAYS: McVain! I love it. I didn't make up "The Pantsuit" or the "Sliky Pony", but I do lay PERSONAL CLAIM TO : "Nonni" Pelosi, after she trotted her grandchildren out in the well of the House,"The HelMitt" after the hair flap right before CPAC, and "The Manchurian Messiah" because Obama is a sleeper Muslim, I just know it. Don't have one for "Rudy" yet. IDEAS?
BUT "McVain">>>>>>>>>>THAT IS NEW...and unless you can give credit where it is due, I give you THAT ONE!!! THAT IS AWESOME, and I have not heard that yet!!!! ]

Times have changed since 1960. It should all be over by mid-February.
[JANE SAYS: Are you repeating what I said again, again? Again? ;)]

Well dang Gary, I'd hope in 45 years things changed.
However, to your credit, thats more than likely the single smartest thing I've seen you say.

Fred Thompson, huh? I must admit, I like his style. Let the early ones self-destruct and then ride in late for praise and accolades. Very interesting.
[JANE SAYS: I like YOUR style, Miss Deb! You write purty.;) ]

I admit I don't know much about Fred Thompson but I did like his comments on Immigration. And I'm certainly still searching for "The One"....
However, when Fred was Senator from Tennessee, he DID vote FOR McCain-Feingold, didn't he?
[JANE SAYS: A+, F4TR---YES HE DID! I am posting on Thursday about Fred Thompson being a shill for McVain...stay tuned...]

Recently, Fred said MF was a mistake and renounced it.
