MEMORIAL DAY Is A Day For Remembering. And Forgetting.
This day, I will attend memorial services at Quantico National Cemetery as a witness to my children that this day is not a "holiday" so much as a day of mourning and thanksgiving to remember fallen heroes and men like their grandfather, a legal immigrant who spent sixteen years in the Navy as a doctor to thank the country who adopted him.
This day, I will pray for all the children whose parents will never return to protect them.
This day, I will consider the empty arms of the widows of men who loved their country to death.
This day, I will forget my manners and remind a loud-mouthed Liberal that if not for better men, they might find it difficult to enjoy their entitlement so freely.
Thanks for reminding us of what the day is really about. If only more people would actually stop and remember.

Jane,
I made a decision yesterday that I will no longer seek to use simple, peaceful means to counter the leftsists of this nation.
Our memorial day parade, wherein many veterans, support groups, etc, was crashed by a bunch of folks who took Edward's advice and showed up with anti-American signs, anti-Bush signs, etc, and chanted long and hard about we being war criminals.
I swear to God I don't know how these folks got out of there alive. The faces of those veterans (myself included) as well as family members, etc, were so full of scorn and anger at this demonstration that it's a wonder some of the older ones didn't have heart attacks.
The police rounded them up and hauled their butts away, but the damage was done. They crossed a line that I had once thought inviolable.
Not anymore, it seems. Well, they want a political war, they've got one now. I'm going to enjoy watching their reactions as their own tactics and "street theatre" operations are used against them.
Stay tuned.....
Respects,
[JANE SAYS: I have lOoong agitated for the UNCIVIL among us to give it back to them in spades. I actually CONFRONT obnoxious Libs when I see them with all their stickered Subarus and Chez t-shirts. It is time to NOT BE NICE ANYMORE. WE ARE TOOOO DAMNED NICE AS A PARTY. NOT THIS CHICK. Time for that is O.VER. Give 'em Hell, Tim.]
