Really.
This is too easy. Isn't it written somewhere that a political candidate should be at least a little smarter than the stump he is standing on?
Are Americans so disconnected from the electoral process that they can forgive the vapid content of Barack Obama's pianissimo sermons campaign speeches just because they tickle the ear and warm the soul? Oh...and he's (eewwww) "handsome"?
Apparently, yes.
And Libs think George W. is dumb?
The Left can have him. And I hope they get him. They so richly deserve him.
Folks...I can handle a great many injustices, but allowing my neighbors--good, decent, if ignorant people--to go about thinking Obama "seems nice enough" is where I draw the line.
Convert the mislead. Show them the path to redemption. Save a friend this very day.
We Republicans had better serve up some real meat on our plate, or we run the risk of having an empty suit who can't choose party favors without help running the Free World.
This is not a reality show, people. This is real life.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY TO SEE THAT YOUR CANDIDATE IS THE ONE WHO KEEPS THE MANCHURIAN MESSIAH OUT OF THE OVAL OFFICE?

Jane,
Obama is the JV team. The hubris and vanity are amazing, and I am not certain that the venue has yet been constructed that will hold his ego.
He has a history of missing moments & opportunities. For example, when he kicked off his campaign he appeared at the old offices of Lincoln and said a few words. I commented about then thusly:
---------------------------------
He missed his chance. He should have taken the reins and actually USED the LIncoln analogy, but his inexperience has again shown he is not ready. Rather than talk about being "from the place the Lincoln hailed, etc, he should have waxed...
"I stand here today, in front of the humble building that once served as offices to an humble man, Abraham Lincoln, that great forseer of Humanity's wealth, who took upon himself the mantle of saviour of a nation, who dissolved the bonds that kept a race in bondage, and freed them to take their place as equal and supportive citizens of this great Republic. It is right, and it is time, that a man of color, a man who represents those same hopes and dreams and simple rights so valiantly eloqueted by the "Great Emacipator" now sets his sights upon that same house where Lincoln once lived. It is now time that a Man of both color and conviction stepped into that house, and took up the reins himself, and rested upon his own shoulders the burden of leading this last, best hope of Freedom upon this earth. I am that man, and it is that time."
That is what Mr. Obama should have said. But he did not, and he will lose the upcoming election. Rather than stun the crowd with oratory, he held back, and by staying his hand, he left what might have been upon the threshold, and now must live with what will be.
If I were him, I'd buy a nice flak jacket and some anti-poison pills, because the Hilda-beast will be shortly upon the warpath.

No ma'am We KNOW George Bush is dumb, just like the rest of you fucking idiot right wingers.
At Least Obama can admit he makes mistakes, more than I can say for that fucktard President.
[JANE SAYS: Well...welcome to The Realm. You have proven my point brilliantly. When Libs can't beat you, they try to beat you down.
DENY, DEFLECT, ACCUSE, ATTACK.
You must be thirsty after using all those BIG, BIG words, but we are fresh out of KOOL-AID! I am sure they have plenty over at DKos.
BUUUh-bye.]

Ah yes,
Right on cue. The leftist posts with his "biting" commentary, choosing to "speak truth to power" through the use of foul language rather than decent elucidation.
Must be an Ivy League graduate.
Seriously, friend, is that the best you can do? Swearing and name-calling instead of gracefully articulating your message? Allow me to break the bad news to you: adolescence is not an asset. Ever.

Very eloquently put x2, Tim.
I'm hoping Obama idiots himself out of the race, but knowing how our media works and knowing how the average American thinks, I can't count on it.

When I get tired ... I STFU. Please don't tell OBY One about that tried and true method of not making a fool out of yourself!
[JANE SAYS: He is going to peter out here shortly. UNfortunately. I would vote for him in a Primary just to make it easier for US to take the BIG HOUSE. Hillary scares me.]

I'm looking at property in Iceland.
[JANE SAYS: Ten acres that lays just right in say...West Virginia..a house that takes advantage of all the land's assets, NO DEBT, and a nice twelve gauge...and you're done. America is STILL the best country ON THIS PLANET, and I won't abandon it to THEM. NO WAY, Jose.]

My, my, The Queen has allowed someone without manners into The Realm--and one with such poor grammar, at that. Have you read his blog? I read as much as I could, but gave up when I couldn't find a point anywhere. He may have a coherent argument or debate somewhere in his head, but he certainly can't articulate it in writing. The Realm is so much more fun when opposing views are well stated.
As for the original post, well put. He may be well-intentioned, but he is so NOT what his followers really wish him to be. Maybe twenty years from now he will be, but he certainly isn't yet.
[JANE SAYS: Don't even BOTHER to click his stupid link. If I wasn't so damned generous, I'd turn it off. Stupid is as stupid does. And he does stupid Soooo well. Let's keep him for the moment. Him AND OBAMA. For the sake of the GOP.]

I admit, I clicked the link. No one comments on his blog. Looks like I was the only one there.

Oh, absolutely keep the link active. It answers the 'is this the best you have to offer?' question. Apparently it is.
