The Most Unexpected Moment At MILBLOG 2007

And no, it wasn't when President Bush took our breath away with a surprise video greeting.

As I watched the panel of astute women milbloggers explain their part in the newest niche of the blogosphere, ultimately it was a man that left us all speechless.

When he pulled the visual aid from his pocket, the mother in me completely dissolved.

Sadly, the Global War on Terror will never be personal to the average American, with less than 1% of us directly sacrificing to serve for the glut of the population's freedom. It is redundant to say that Robert Stokely takes this war very personally.

And with the grace of God.

Thanks to Mary Katharine for taping this, because the entire time my eyes were blurred with emotion, I knew she was on the job to upload this tender testament of a father's love. I think that is her sniffing in the background audio, and good on her for being able to hold the camera straight.

Ms. Jane,

It was a pleasure to meet you and the other wonderful members of Cotillion. The quality of the folks there was simply astounding, and the quiet, but purposeful work so many do is a testament to what Americans have always done. You all have seen a need and taken upon yourselves the task to fill it, and you have my utmost and humble respect and thanks for that.

Besides which, how often does a guy get to hang with so many princesses at one time?
