You might be a redneck if, when packing for Myrtle Beach, the first decision you have to make is paper or plastic.
And you might be a Fredhead if you have a GOLDWATER sticker on the bumper of the '07 H2 HUMMER you are packing them bags into, y'all.
At least that is the conventional "wisdom" about you from the other side of the aisle.
Thompson has emerged as the back-to-the-future candidate on whom many Republicans seem ready to project all their aspirations. His supporters are the core of the old Goldwater-Reagan fan club. The Pew survey suggested that voters well disposed toward Thompson are more likely than Giuliani sympathizers to attend church, and are somewhat more conservative, older, better educated and overwhelmingly male. A recent Post-ABC News survey indicated that Thompson is especially strong in the South.
For all their self-congratulatory whooping about how divided we Republicans are, I think that the frothing at our core remains a bit disquieting to the Democrats.
Because our "'A' game" hasn't even officially declared and there were a frightening lot of these kinds of bumper stickers back in '64 too.
PEW! I'm looking at an framed AU H2O 64 button and bumper sticker as I write this. Scary, but true.
It's going full circle. My Dad took me to the Goldwater convention (as a very young boy...), we heard Reagan and my Dad said, "That's who should be President!", but unfortunately he didn't live to see it happen.
I've got the same feeling. Yep, I'm a FredHead.

The 'storm' in the elephants' party is a good thing, and the timing is perfect. The eery quiet on the left, regarding this storm, is veeery telling.
"He (Fred) always struck me as a bit more of a libertarian type Republican."
Not a bad thing at all. The leftie friends are nervous. I see it all around, in real life. Obama is so, well, empty. Mrs. Glacier can't turn into Mrs. Charming, no matter what. The financial dealings of that family are just beginning to unfold. The hypocrisy of "it's good for me, but not for the" is striking. The terrorists are not going away, Mr/Mrs Reid/Pelosi are a joke. America is waking up.
Fred/Rudy or Rudy/Fred might be the medicine, or what I call the 'daddies' this country needs. Otherwise, it's about to lose its heart and its soul, which w/b a shame for the country and the world.
P.S. dearest Jane - I'm a Rander. Dagney is the "slut" Ayn was. You must read "The Passion of Ayn Rand" by Barbara Branden, if you haven't yet. Slut, however, in Ayn's mind is different from others' interpretation, due to her beliefs.
When I first came to this country, people used to say "you sound just like Ayn Rand". Then friends began to give me her books. Now the library is complete with all from and about her. We must never give up the fight for freedom, sluts or no sluts :)
P.P.S. No one says/writes the word "whore" with more passion than you :) Regards,

I wouldn't know - wasn't born yet. I'm not even Republican. I do hope Fred's the right guy for the job however. Most of the other candidates remind me of characters from a B grade alien invasion flick.
I have no problem with Tanc because of his position on the border. But I don't think he'll make the cut. And the Democratic candidates? Can we say 'Secretariat?' I knew you could. Every time I hear that, "It takes a village to raise a child," quote I wonder if Hillary realizes how much she sounds like a hypocrite. I also wonder what her daughter really thinks of her for that matter.
I'm rambling again. That's what happens at 11pm when you're wondering if it's safe to sleep. Long story. But yeah I'm in. Long as the first thing Fred takes care of is that jackhole 'Slots' Reed. Man should've been run out on a rail years ago. Then maybe I can move to Nevada. I hate the desert, but it's better than living in a sea of crazies.

Oh, yes, there is a solid core of the old Goldwater-Reagan movement within the FredHeads.
If you've been to a FredHeads Meetup, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. It's almost like a libertarian revival meeting (if you can imagine such a thing).
If you haven't been to a FredHeads meetup, what are you waiting for? ;-)

Poor pundits, politicos and other varied rule makers! They don't get us and they are afraid of Fred. What are they to do?
Just watch and be amazed...
"We the People" are on the rise!

Fredheads. Hmmm. I could get used to that...
Look forward to hearing more. So Jane think he's got a shot? Could it be a shot heard 'round the world? :-)
